Women’s Wellness Protocol: The Four-Product Foundation

Perfect Collagen, Magnesium Glycinate, NewGreens® BerryGreens, Daily Multivitamin — why these four form the most complete daily foundation for the demands of the female body.

Most women’s supplement protocols I see are either too targeted — one product for one symptom — or too vague — a ‘women’s formula’ that lists 30 ingredients at doses too low to do anything meaningful. Neither approach serves the full picture of what the female body actually needs on a daily basis.

Over 25 years, working with thousands of women ranging from their late 20s to their 70s, I’ve come to a consistent conclusion: the foundation is the same across almost all of them. It’s four products. Each one addressing a distinct and non-overlapping physiological need. Together, they cover what I consider the core demands of the female body at a daily, maintenance level — before any targeted or condition-specific work begins.

Perfect Collagen + Vitamin C: Structural Integrity from the Inside

Collagen is the most abundant protein in the female body — present in skin, hair, nails, bone matrix, joint cartilage, ligaments, and vascular walls. Its production declines with age, and that decline accelerates significantly at perimenopause due to the relationship between estrogen and collagen synthesis. Estrogen supports collagen production; as estrogen declines, so does collagen turnover. Women can lose up to 30% of their skin collagen in the first five years after menopause.12

Perfect Collagen provides five types from five independent sources — bovine, marine, chicken bone broth, chicken sternum cartilage, and eggshell membrane — which together cover skin and hair (Types I and III), joint cartilage (undenatured Type II), structural tissue organization (Type V), and new bone formation (Type X). The organic Vitamin C included is not decorative — ascorbic acid is a required cofactor for collagen synthesis. Without it, the peptides cannot be efficiently converted into new tissue.

One scoop in your morning coffee. It dissolves completely, no taste, no residue. Within 8–12 weeks of consistent daily use, most women report visible skin improvements. Joint comfort, hair density, and nail strength typically follow.

Magnesium Glycinate: The Hormonal Regulator Most Women Are Missing

An estimated 48% of Americans consume less magnesium than their estimated daily requirement. That number is higher among women who are under chronic stress, who exercise regularly, or who consume alcohol with any frequency — all of which deplete magnesium faster than diet can replace it.

For women specifically, the hormonal implications of magnesium deficiency are significant and frequently underappreciated. Magnesium is required for the liver to properly metabolize and clear estrogen. Deficiency contributes to estrogen accumulation — a key driver of PMS, heavy periods, bloating, breast tenderness, and mood instability in the second half of the cycle. It also regulates the HPA axis, which governs cortisol — the hormone that, when chronically elevated, suppresses progesterone and creates the estrogen-dominant pattern that so many women experience.

Sleep

Magnesium activates the parasympathetic nervous system and binds to GABA receptors — the same receptors targeted by pharmaceutical sleep medications.

Most women taking magnesium glycinate consistently report falling asleep faster and waking less frequently within two to three weeks.

Cycle Support

Magnesium levels naturally drop in the luteal phase (the two weeks before menstruation), which is precisely when PMS symptoms peak.

Consistent supplementation stabilizes this fluctuation, reducing cramping, bloating, and mood dysregulation. B6 and magnesium together support progesterone synthesis — the most common hormonal deficiency in women with cycle irregularities.

Bone Density

Magnesium works synergistically with calcium and vitamin D for bone mineralization.

It’s required for the activation of vitamin D, which in turn governs calcium absorption. Without adequate magnesium, vitamin D cannot do its job — and post-menopausal bone density loss accelerates.

NewGreens® BerryGreens: Adaptogens, Micronutrients, and Gut Health in One Scoop

This is the product I added to the Women’s Wellness protocol specifically because it addresses something the other three don’t: the adaptogenic stress load, the gut microbiome, and micronutrient density from whole-food sources — simultaneously.

NewGreens® BerryGreens delivers a concentrated blend of organic fruits and vegetables, a 5-mushroom complex (including lion’s mane and reishi), digestive enzymes, probiotics, and adaptogens including ashwagandha. For women, the adaptogenic layer is particularly relevant: ashwagandha has been shown in clinical trials to significantly reduce cortisol, improve thyroid function in subclinically hypothyroid women, and support reproductive hormone balance.*4 Reishi provides immune modulation and the kind of calming nervous system support that complements magnesium’s evening effect.

The gut health component matters here too. Estrogen metabolism depends heavily on the gut microbiome — specifically the estrobolome, the collection of bacteria responsible for processing estrogen metabolites before they’re excreted. A compromised gut microbiome increases estrogen recirculation, compounding any existing hormonal imbalance. NewGreens® delivers probiotics and digestive enzymes that support a healthy estrobolome as part of the daily ritual.

Daily Multivitamin: The Insurance Policy That Actually Works

I’m careful about calling any supplement an ‘insurance policy’ because it implies you can eat poorly and supplement your way out of it. You can’t. But for women who eat reasonably well and still have gaps — which is virtually everyone — a properly formulated multivitamin fills those gaps efficiently.

The key word is properly formulated. Our Daily Multivitamin uses activated forms throughout: methylcobalamin (not cyanocobalamin) for B12, methylfolate (not folic acid) for B9, mixed tocopherols for vitamin E, and vitamin D3 (not D2). The difference between activated and inactive forms isn’t marketing — a significant percentage of the population (particularly those with MTHFR variants, which affect roughly 40% of women of European descent) cannot efficiently convert inactive B-vitamin forms to their usable state. Methylfolate and methylcobalamin bypass this conversion entirely.

“This isn’t four products chosen for convenience. It’s four non-overlapping systems: structural integrity, hormonal regulation, adaptogenic resilience, micronutrient completeness. That’s the foundation.”

How to Build the Protocol

Morning: Perfect Collagen in your coffee (empty stomach). About an hour later: NewGreens® with water, Daily Multivitamin alongside it. Evening: Magnesium Glycinate 30–45 minutes before bed. That’s four products, two intake windows, total execution time under three minutes. Explore the full sequencing and product details on the Women’s Health collection or see how this fits into The Method.

The compounding effect of taking all four consistently over 60–90 days is, in my clinical experience, one of the most reliable wellness interventions I know of. Not because any single product is magic, but because together they address the four core systems that determine how a woman feels every day.
