Suggested Use: 2 capsules daily, in divided doses, with meals
What Is It?
EndoLOX is designed to support cardiovascular health with key Mediterranean diet ingredients, including pomegranate, olive fruit and resveratrol, a critical component of red wine. The blend supports powerful antioxidant defenses to promote vascular tissue, lipoprotein metabolism, endothelial function and cellular health.*
Uses For EndoLOX
Cardiovascular Health: EndoLOX offers support for healthy vascular gene expression, endothelial function, arterial wall integrity and blood flow. The formula is designed to enhance LOX-1 receptor function to support healthy lipoprotein metabolism. LOX-1 is a macrophage receptor protein involved with binding and breaking down lipoproteins. Research suggests berberine, ellagic acid, and resveratrol moderate LOX-1 receptor function, in part by supporting antioxidant defenses, cytokine production, and healthy iNOS activity. Additionally, the formula offers a number of unique extracts designed to provide powerful antioxidant support to promote healthy lipoprotein status and cellular membrane stabilization. First, enhanced absorption isoquercetin offers 2–6 times higher bioavailabity compared to quercetin. In a randomized double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 93 subjects, supplementation with 150 mg quercetin provided antioxidant support to maintain healthy lipoprotein status and promoted healthy blood flow. Hydroxytyrosol from olive fruit is included for its ability to promote healthy cytokine balance and moderate the expression of vascular adhesion molecules. In a randomized controlled trial involving 18 individuals supplemented with olive oil, olive oil with a high polyphenol content offered enhanced antioxidant support for healthy lipoprotein metabolism. Oligonol ® is an extract from lychee fruit and green tea produced by converting the long-chain polyphenol polymers into more bioavailable shorter chain monomers and oligomers. Increasing the bioavailability of these polymers offers enhanced support for cytokine balance and antioxidant defenses to support lipoprotein status and cellular health. Lastly, N-acetyl-l- cysteine (NAC) is included to help maintain a healthy balance of immune mediators in the artery wall to support healthy lipoprotein function.*
What Is The Source?
Berberine HCl is derived from Phellodendron amurense bark and Sargent’s barberry(Berberis sargentiana). Isoquercetin is derived from Fava d’anta tree(Dimorphandra mollis) pods and Cat’s claw (Uncaria tomentosa) leaves. N-acetyl- l-cysteine and resVida ® resveratrol are synthetic. Pomegranate extract is derived from Punica granatum l. fruit and standardized to contain 70% ellagic acid. Hytolive ® olive extract is derived from Olea europaea l. fruit and standardized to contain a minimum of 7% hydroxytyrosol. Oligonol ® is derived from lychee ( Litchi chinensis ) fruit extract and green tea ( Camellia sinensis ) leaf extract and standardized to contain 10% monomeric phenols. Ascorbyl palmitate is derived from corn dextrose fermentation and palm oil.
Recommendations
Pure Encapsulations recommends 2 capsules daily, in divided doses, with meals.
Are There Any Potential Side Effects Or Precautions?
Not to be taken by pregnant or lactating women. Berberine has had reports of headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal bloating, hypotension and slowed heart rate in the literature. It is recommended to use resveratrol cautiously in patients with hormonal disorders and those using estrogen therapy, as resveratrol may act as either an estrogen agonist or estrogen antagonist. There have been rare reports of headache or tingling in the extremities resulting from quercetin supplementation. There have been cases of allergic reaction to lychee fruit. Individuals with allergy to birch pollen, latex, Compositae pollen and sunflower seed should be cautious of potential cross-reactivity. In rare cases, green tea can cause dizziness, insomnia, agitation or fatigue. Rare side effects from NAC can include nausea, vomiting, headache, dry mouth, dizziness, or abdominal pain. Consult your physician for more information.
Are There Any Potential Drug Interactions?
Oligonol ® , quercetin and resveratrol have blood-thinning effects and therefore may be contra-indicated with blood thinning medications. Individuals taking anti-diabetes medications may require blood glucose monitoring. Berberine may be contra-indicated with blood pressure medications. Quercetin could affect the way that the liver breaks down medications metabolized by the cytochrome p450 system, altering the effects of these medications and possibly the dose needed for treatment. Quercetin may be contra-indicated with calcium channel blockers, estradiol, and immune suppressive drugs. Green tea extract may interfere with the absorption and effectiveness of a number of other medications, including certain heart, anti-diarrhea, cold and hay fever medications. NAC may interact with nitroglycerin and metoclopramide. Consult your physician for more information
