The Promise

A targeted amino blend — focused support four free-form amino acids plus tryptophan*

A concentrated amino formula in vegetarian capsules designed for neurotransmitter-related support.*

Core ingredients and amounts

Each two-capsule serving delivers 250 mg each of dl-phenylalanine, taurine, l-tyrosine and acetyl-l-carnitine, plus 200 mg l-tryptophan.

Free-form amino acids

All key amino acids are provided in free-form, which is the listed form for dl-phenylalanine, taurine, l-tyrosine, acetyl-l-carnitine and l-tryptophan.

Vegetarian delivery and antioxidant

Two vegetable capsules deliver the formula using cellulose-based vegetarian capsules and include ascorbyl palmitate as an antioxidant.

Sourcing notes

l-Tyrosine is listed as extracted from soybeans; dl-phenylalanine, taurine and acetyl-l-carnitine are listed as synthetically produced; ascorbyl palmitate is derived from corn dextrose fermentation and palm oil.

Why It Works

How the blend is put together ingredient roles and complementary actions

Each ingredient has a distinct role or pathway reflected in the formulation and amounts.

01

dl-Phenylalanine: dual isomers

dl-Phenylalanine supplies both d- and l- forms so you get l-phenylalanine for conversion to tyrosine and d-phenylalanine for supporting phenylethylamine-related pathways.*

02

l-Tyrosine: precursor form

l-Tyrosine is included as the l-form and is identified as the precursor to l-dopa, dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine.

03

Taurine: inhibitory amino

Taurine is described as an inhibitory amino acid that can help modulate excitatory amino acids such as glutamate.*

04

Acetyl-l-carnitine: acetylcholine and receptor support*

Acetyl-l-carnitine is shown to contribute to acetylcholine production and to support dopamine receptor function while helping maintain taurine levels in certain brain regions.*

Cognitive Aminos – Age-related decreases in levels of several amino acids compromise cognitive function. Amino acids are important intermediates in the production of neurotransmitters in the brain and are involved in neuromodulating activities. l-Tyrosine is an amino acid naturally synthesized in the body. It is the precursor of the neurotransmitters l-dopa, dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine, supporting mood and mental clarity.

What Is It?

This product contains a combination of the amino acids dl-phenylalanine, taurine, l-tyrosine and acetyl-l-carnitine. Age-related decreases in amino acids compromise cognitive function. Amino acids are important intermediates in the production of neurotransmitters in the brain and are involved in neuromodulating activities.*

Uses For Cognitive Aminos Cognitive Function Support:*

l-Tyrosine is an amino acid naturally synthesized in the body. It is the precursor of the neurotransmitters l-dopa, dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine, supporting mood and mental clarity. dl-Phenylalanine provides a mixture of two essential amino acids, d-phenylalanine and l-phenylalanine. In the body, l-phenylalanine converts to tyrosine, enhancing neurotransmitter support. A separate pathway allows both d- and l-phenylalanine to support levels of the mood-elevating compound phenylethylamine, a function not provided by l-tyrosine. Taurine is considered an inhibitory amino acid, helping to modulate levels of excitatory amino acids such as glutamate in the brain. This provides neuroprotective action important for maintaining proper brain cell health. Acetyl-l-carnitine has multiple effects on brain metabolism, including helping to maintain taurine levels in a particular part of the brain. It also contributes to the production of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine and may support dopamine receptor function. As a result, acetyl-l-carnitine plays a role in memory, attention, mental clarity, and mood support.*
