In episode 115 of his video series, Dr. Larson discusses:

When we research diets that have been backed by research like the Mediterranean diet, we find that processed foods are either nonexistent or a very small percentage of what the diets consist of. The Standard American Diet (SAD) comprises over 50% of calories from ultra-processed foods, which increases your risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, Alzheimer’s disease, certain cancers, and a host of other chronic conditions.

The other thing that proven healthy diets contain is plants. Having a lot of plants and good quality produce is integral to good health. But the number of people who are getting enough remains very low, at about 10% of the population. Since so many people are not getting the nutrients they need, it should sound an alarm. The deficiency of plant foods is what we kept in mind when we reformulated the NewGreens Superfood supplement.


We are the only company who is able to make a claim that is validated by an independent third-party examiner that we actually get two full servings of vegetables in just one serving of NewGreens. Other brands use tactics to make a similar claim by saying that they have the same antioxidant value as five or ten servings, but it is not the same.



We claim that our product provides the same two servings of vegetable nutrition that you would get if you sat down and ate the foods directly. The reason we can say what we do is that our product is freeze-dried, which means that it maintains all the nutrients as if you ate the vegetable raw according to third-party analysis. If you reconstitute our formula with water, it will revert to its purest form. 

Obviously, the ideal scenario is for you to eat the foods directly, but if you don’t get what you need in that manner, then our product is a great substitute. The Classic version of NewGreens has no added flavors. We are compiling a comparison of what other companies have in their product. Since they heat their product when formulating it, they kill most of the nutrient content and the taste.

So they have to put a whole lot of other additives in their product to make it taste better. NewGreens tastes like real vegetables. We have flavors like mint and berry, or for the purest, we have a “Classic” flavor.
