Way back in 1998 I was diagnosed with cancer and as you can imagine, I took a lot of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and various other supplements to offset the conventional chemotherapy and radiation treatments. One of the more uncommon natural products I discovered was called AHCC.

AHCC stands for Active Hexose Correlated Compound and it is a blend of medicinal mushrooms developed in the 1980’s in Japan. AHCC does wonders for boosting the body’s immune system and anyone who’s gone through chemotherapy knows that the immune system needs all the help it can get!

Below, are a few AHCC testimonials I thought you might appreciate and of course more detailed information and the history of AHCC. There’s also a link to a very good book about AHCC that I would encourage you to share with those going through immune challenges.

This Has Worked So Well For Many Years For Us!
My husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer over 7 years ago. We immediately went on the defensive, and information found at Pure Prescriptions was invaluable! During his treatment, we used 6 AHCC per day, among other therapies. He came through with flying colors! Despite being told that this cancer was a type that will recur in the bladder, he has had no reoccurrence. We attribute this to keeping up with a maintenance of 2 AHCC per day. Wonder mushrooms!

We use this product to help strengthen our immune system. Neither my husband or I have had colds or allergy problems in several years, my husband was also having trouble keeping his red blood cell count and hemoglobin numbers within a normal range due to some medication he was on and since taking AHCC regularly for several years he has had normal labs. We feel this is a direct relation to the AHCC.

What is ahcc?

AHCC is short for ‘Active Hexose Correlated Compound’ and while the name may not be engaging or always easy to remember, but AHCC is an an exciting, innovative, effective—and memorable–nutritional supplement. More precisely, AHCC is not just a supplement; it is a functional food, and one that is, at its core, derived from healing mushrooms.

Although mushrooms have long been recognized and honored by various cultures for their medicinal properties and there are numerous mushroom products on the market, AHCC is different from all the rest.

If you are thinking, “Yes, I’ve heard that line before” or “Just what we need, another supplement that claims to do it all,” we would have to agree with both of those sentiments. AHCC is different, but does it do everything? No. Can taking it greatly enhance your health or the health of someone you care about? Most definitely!
