Vitamin D3 is included to significantly enhance the absorption of calcium in the gut. But true bone health also relies on a strong, flexible protein matrix. For this reason, Oscap® includes the active forms of Folate (5-MTHF), Vitamin B6 (P-5-P), and Vitamin B12. These B vitamins are crucial for helping to maintain healthy homocysteine levels, which is important because elevated homocysteine can interfere with collagen cross-linking and weaken the bone matrix.

INTERACTIONS
5-methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF) supplementation is not recommended concurrently with methotrexate cancer therapy, as it can interfere with methotrexate's anti-neoplastic activity; however, 5-MTHF has not been shown to interfere with the anti-inflammatory activity of methotrexate. An individual taking methotrexate for psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis can safely take a supplement containing folate.
