10 Uses for Lavender Essential Oil

1. Promote relaxation

Unwind by adding a 5 drops of Lavender essential oil to a nighttime bath with some Epsom salts. Or put 6-8 drops in a diffuser for a comforting and calming scent.

2. Promote restful sleep

Put a drop or two of Lavender essential oil on your pillow or diffuse at night.

3. Make a DIY air freshener

Add 10 drops of Lavender essential oil and one tsp of witch hazel to a small spray bottle and fill with water to make your own DIY air freshener. Spray linens, bedding and even closets.

4. Soothe skin

Add Lavender essential oil to your favorite skin care or body care products.

5. Give a relaxing massage

Create a DIY massage oil that promotes relaxation – which is great right before bedtime. Add 2 drops of Lavender essential oil along with almond oil as a carrier oil, and massage on the skin. This is great for kids right before bed.

6. Make your own facial serum

Just add 3 drops Frankincense and 3 drops Lavender essential oils to 1 oz carrier oil (such as argan or rosehip) to make your own DIY facial serum.

7. Create your own baby balm

Soothe baby’s skin between diaper changes. Add 1-2 drops of Lavender to a teaspoon of coconut oil and use a DIY baby balm.

8. Get gorgeous lashes

Add a drop to your favorite mascara to help promote healthy eye lash growth.

9. Freshen up laundry

Add a few drops of Lavender essential oil to a set of wool dryer balls and use in place of traditional dryer sheets. The wool dryer balls help to reduce wrinkles and drying time, while the Lavender helps to infuse clothes with a fragrant aroma.

10. Make lavender lemonade

Add 1/2 drop of Lavender Vitality to this homemade lemonade recipe for a delicious alternative to traditional lemonade.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup raw honey (or more according to taste)
  • 1/3 cup lemon juice
  • 5 drops Lemon Vitality
  • 1/2 drop Lavender Vitality
  • 3 cups water

Directions

  1. Heat water and raw honey in a small saucepan on low heat. Stir well.
  2. Remove from heat and add to a small glass pitcher.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and stir well.
  4. Serve over ice.
